Abstract

Employee‘s performance are most significant drivers of organizational success in today‘s competitive and ever changing business environment. This study empirically assessed the relationship between workplace civility, employee inclusiveness and performance. The study also explored the mediating role of workplace harmony on the intricate dynamics at play. The study employed both survey and cross-sectional research designs. The sample size of 385 was drawn from a population of 100,000 civil servants in Kaduna state. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model was used to test the hypothesised relationships. Consequently, the study found that workplace civility and Employee inclusiveness have a positive and significant influence on employee performance. On the contrary, workplace harmony has a positive but insignificant effect on employee performance. Additionally, workplace harmony mediated the relationship between workplace civility, employee inclusiveness and performance. The study recommended government institutions should carry out training and development initiatives stressing professional behaviour among staff members. Encouraging a culture of civility will improve general performance, lower personal conflicts, and raise employee morale.
